Many people often ask me, “How do you do it?” “How do you handle married life?” “How do you deal with raising your children?” “What about full-time ministry?” “And how are you able to travel the world in ministry and still look that good?” My answer to it all… it’s the GLORY! Several years ago I found a special little scripture, and I’ve held it very close to my heart ever since:
“By his divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life. We have received all of this by coming to know him, the one who called us to himself by means of his marvelous glory and excellence. And because of his glory and excellence, he has given us great and precious promises…” – 2 Peter 1:3-4
I’ve been happily married for almost 16 years and from the very beginning of our marriage my husband, Joshua and I declared, “Where there is Great love, there are always great miracles.” That statement has become our motto in life. Our marriage and family have been filled with miracles as we aim to walk in the revelation of God’s love for ourselves, eachother and others. We now have been blessed with three beautiful children. Our home is filled with one teenager, one toddler and now a newborn baby. These are our precious treasures that the Lord has entrusted us with and we are devoted to raising them in the glory realm… we believe this to be a direct response to the prayer of Jesus when he prayed “thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven” (Matthew 6:10). We want to create the atmosphere of Heaven in our home and model it for others to experience as well.
I’ve had the privilege of travelling to over fifty nations ministering the love and glory of God all over the world to beautiful people everywhere we go. If we aren’t on the road as a family, I am at home, handling the majority of the administration work of our ministry as well as raising our children. Yes, I am the one that is handling the daily online orders that are placed for our many CDs and books… and I make sure to pray over each package before it is shipped. Yes, when you email our office, I am reading the letters and doing my best to respond to each one. I have always homeschooled Lincoln and now I will be adding another student to our classroom this coming fall as our daughter Liberty begins junior kindergarten.
We love to celebrate, so we are constantly hosting people in our home for all sorts of occasions. Everything from birthdays to Christmas to Cinco de Mayo (even though we’re not Hispanic) to Summer parties are celebrated in our home. We have purposely created an atmosphere of celebration… where we will celebrate even the smallest holidays that most people neglect, because the Glory realm is filled with festive rejoicing and unstoppable joy (Isaiah 61:3). We serve a God, who sits in the Heavens and laughs (Psalm 2:4). We love to have fun in the presence of the Lord as a family. We revel in God’s presence in the meetings and experience His miracles, signs and wonders with great delight and then we go out as a family and experience the same things. I will never forget visiting King’s Dominion theme-park near Ashland, Virginia one summer. We were there with another ministry family and as we were waiting in line for the Antique Car Ride God’s glory just dropped on us right there in the park. God loves family and he loves when we enjoy each other. We stood in that line, and all of us were covered in the manifestation of visible glory that shone as golden specks upon our skin and clothing. It was so beautiful. My husband, Joshua, always says that “one of the most spiritual things you can do is spend time with your family and take care of the ones that God has given to you.” We have learned that our family is our first ministry. Everything else flows when you get your spiritual priorities in line.
How do I do it? I daily put my trust in Jesus Christ, leaning on Him and not my own understanding (Proverbs 3:5). I have discovered that I cannot do anything apart from God. His ways are so much better than mine and He truly has my best interest at heart. Every decision I make is with Him, and I must have His peace before I can make any major decisions. I trust Him for everything…as a family we walk by faith every single day, believing for God’s supernatural provision to meet every one of our needs. He has never failed us…time and time again He has come through with the most amazing miracles. As we have lived a life surrendered to Him we have discovered that His Glory is surrendered to us… in other words… as we put our eyes on Him we realize that He is already focused upon us and that heaven is accessible to us at any moment.
I choose to walk in the freedom that has been so graciously given to me (2 Corinthians 3:17, 18). I choose to believe His divinely inspired Word on purpose (Luke 1:45). His Word brings life and light to me. His Word brings illumination to any dark areas shining with wisdom to “know how” and “know when.” I choose to be moved by the Spirit of God (Romans 8:14)… led and directed by Him in all things. I’ve discovered that there is spontaneity in the Glory… and it is important to be surrendered to Him completely in this. I choose to put on the mind of Christ (1 Corinthians 2:16; Philippians 2:5) and silence any voices that are not in line with the voice of God. I must daily recognize that I can do all things through Christ and I receive the supernatural strength that He constantly imparts to my spirit, soul and physical body (Philippians 4:13). This is how I choose to live in the Glory.
I invite you to join me in this discovery of living a life in God’s Glory on a daily basis. It brings so much excitement and fulfilment to live in this way. This is truly the only way you can do everything that God has called you to do… and be everything that He has created you to be. In the Glory you will find divine success that will enable you to make it.
